Description
The Little owl (Mochuelo europeo in Spain), is a small bird of prey, about 23cm in length, and about 54 cm in wingspan, is nocturnal and feeds mostly on insects, worms and small mammals, mainly rodents, but also eat lizards, frogs and birds small young people
They are present in Europe, in Asia and in North Africa. In Spain they are habitual residents, except in the Canary Islands where they are absent.
They can be found in areas where rainfed crops alternate with scattered trees, olive groves, wastelands, groves or groves; also on rocky outcrops, cliffs, forest edges, orchards of fruit trees, vineyards, holm oaks, cork oaks, abandoned or dilapidated buildings, rural populations and in urban parks and gardens.
